KLAFFI - Klaus Klaffenböck

Klaus Klaffenböck zählt zu den bekanntesten Persönlichkeiten im Motorradrennsport. 2002 gründete er das Team Klaffi und stieg damit in die Supersport und schon bald auch in die Superbike WM ein. In den Jahren davor war er einer der besten Piloten der Sidecar WM. Weltmeister, Vizeweltmeister und vier dritte Plätze in der Gesamtwertung zählen zu seiner Erfolgsbilanz. Heute steht der Name Klaffenböck für ein umfassendes Know-how im Motorradrennsport, was Technik und Business betrifft.
2002 startete das Team Klaffi zum ersten Mal in der Supersport WM. Und worauf andere Teams oft jahrelang vergeblich hinarbeiten - uns gelang es bereits in nur einer Saison: Ab 2003 wurden wir von HONDA, einem der weltweit führenden Motorradhersteller, werksunterstützt. 

2005 gelang mit dem Einstieg in die Superbike WM der nächste große Schritt. Frankie Chili und Max Neukirchner gingen für das Klaffi Honda Team an den Start. Im Folgejahr war Alex Barros auf einer Klaffi Honda in der Superbike WM unterwegs.

Parallel zur Superbike WM war das Team von Klaus Klaffenböck auch im Road Racing aktiv. Martin Finnegan, der irische Road Race Champ, erzielte 2006 und 2007 mit einer Klaffi Honda gleich eine ganze Reihe von Topresultaten. Klaus Klaffenböck und Christian Parzer fuhren bei der TT Spitzenzeiten ein.

2008 konzentriert sich Klaus Klaffenböck wie bereits im Vorjahr auf seine Aktivitäten im Road Racing. Für die TT ging er dabei eine Allianz mit dem Padgetts Manx Gas Racing Team und seinem Piloten John McGuinness ein, der bereits 13 Rennsiege bei der TT für sich verbuchen konnte.
 
 


Team Klaffi was born from the enthusiasm and passion for motor racing of Klaus Klaffenböck in 2002 after a very successful career in Sidecar Racing. Over the years he has achieved one World Title, three runner up places and four third places in the final World Championship standings. Needless to say, during these years he has accumulated a great deal of knowledge and understanding of the motor-sport world, from a technical as well as a business point of view. After only one year in the World Supersport class, the talent and dedication of Team Klaffi was soon recognized by the biggest motorcycle company in the world, HONDA, which offered the team the necessary support to aim for a World Championship Title.
In 2005 Team Klaffi Honda did the big step to World's Superbike Championship. Frankie Chili and Max Neukirchner were the two riders of Team Klaffi Honda to take part in the Superbike Championship.The following year started with a striking hit! Klaus Klaffenböck did a sensational deal with the engagement of Alex Barros for his Team Klaffi Honda.

Simultaneously to his activities in World’s Superbike Championship Klaus Klaffenböck was also successful in Road Racing. It was Martin Finnegan, the Irish Road Race Champ, to achieve a strong string of results with a Klaffi Honda in 2006 and 2007. Klaus Klaffenböck and Christian Parzer did remarkable lap times at the TT Isle of Man.

In 2008 Klaus Klaffenböck will focus on his road racing activities as in the year before. The Padgetts Manx Gas Racing Team will back him and John McGuinness, who has already 13 TT wins on his credit.
